Disc Golf

After a warm welcome at Paddy's place in Ayrshire, we organised ourselves for a round of glow disc golf at his brand new course. Highlights included aces for Rick Rick and Mav. To the awards. President of the SDGA, Calum, presented the Player Awards and Seamus presented the Quaich Tour trophies.

Day two of the North Fife Open took place at the brand new disc golf course at the Drumoig Golf Centre. The 13 hole course had been completed only hours before the event started and works its way around the perimeter of the existing driving range and shares some fairways and greens with the foot golf course. After three rounds in the (mostly) sunshine RickRick was MPO Champion with a score of -14.

We had a great day at the Rosshall Disc Golf Course in Glasgow for the sell-out Rosshall Rumble. While the course is small it was looking good and playing well. Because it's possible to see most of the baskets, unless you're playing one of the wooded holes, it is great to be able to watch all the other cards play.

Riverside Park in Fife was the location for the 2026 Scottish Matchplay. It was cold, with some hail at one point, but the sun did come out. A new format was used this year which made for a fun and interesting event.

With the first two rounds of the competition taking place at Bluebell Woods in Dunbar, the final round came to Glasgow and the Springburn Disc Golf Course.

The 2023 Scottish Open was held on the 19th-21st May in Glasgow. Competitors came from all nations of the UK and there were several International players. The competition took place on courses at Ruchill and Springburn parks.

As part of the Barrhead Electrification project the bridge across the train tracks on Nithsdale Road needs to be raised to accommodate the power cables. On Saturday 6th August and after a lot of preparation they started to remove the bridge deck. First to be removed was "Susie's Store".
